Program Highlights

This professional development program is designed for aspiring leaders in the outdoor recreation industry. ​Students can either participate in a cohort experience with professionals from private industry, nonprofit, and public sectors in outdoor recreation, or can take one course at a time at their own pace.

The 9-month program includes:

  • Multi-day virtual orientation 
  • Foundations of the Outdoor Recreation Economy (FORE101) self-paced course 
  • Five instructor-led, online courses in fundamentals of leadership; communication, community & consensus; organizational change & development; diversity, equity, and inclusion; and mission, vision & goals setting
  • Participation in multiple self-assessments and professional goal setting sessions 
  • Industry expert sessions and a mentor network 
  • Included in the cohort program: professional coaching, final project, plus a week-long retreat in Bend, Oregon

Costs:

Professional Cohort Program: $7,500 including FORE101, 5 online courses, professional coaching, self-assessments, industry expert sessions, final project support, and in-person retreat

Online Certificate: $6,250 including FORE101, 5 courses, industry expert sessions, and self-assessments

Single Course Enrollment: $1,450 per course 

Scholarships are available for the professional cohort program.
